Points to Remember – Sunday August 30, 2020 – “With All Your Heart”
Life is unpredictable in this earthly journey – in our relationships, work-life, health, activities, and virtually all areas. It is filled with disruptions. Author Bruce Feiler in his book, “Life Is In The Transitions,” defines ‘disrupters’ as events or experiences that interrupt the everyday flow of life. His research shows at least one of these occur for most persons every year or two.
When a ‘disrupter’ is of a major nature, such as a divorce, death of a loved one, or loss of a job, he defines this as a ‘lifequake.’ Issues of this magnitude tend to happen to people about every five years. When you have five ‘lifequakes’ in one’s life, that person is dealing with issues of major upset for a significant portion of their lifetime.
Our lives are non-linear in other ways that are not in line with what most of us were taught. For example, there is actually no ‘mid-life crisis’ as we were taught to expect. Nor are we all either extrovert or introvert – passive or assertive. Rather, we all tend to be a mixture of both.
You may ask, “What about Divine Order?” Doesn’t this overcome the uncertainty of life? Divine Order reigns in the Divine Realm, and will mitigate the earthly experience only as we draw it forth in our lives.
The Bible speaks to this in Proverbs 3:5 stating, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God, and God will make straight your path.”
There are four distinct lines in this passage, each calling for your action: : One,‘with all your heart’ means embrace fully God’s Guidance supporting you; Two, though it’s tempting to lean on your own way, know that wisdom has you call on an expert for help – and there is no greater expert than God in living life; Three, in all your ways means in all areas of your life; Four, God will direct your path to your Greater Good.
We know there is a universal order and harmony to all of life around us. So, does it not make sense that the Power that formed and shaped the Universe can just as effectively form and shape your life?
Accept the Truth that you are on this earth to complete a transition from a personal self that deals only with outer, material things to a state of consciousness where your primary focus is your inner Divine Guidance.
Remember, you honor God by demonstrating your trust – and you do so by turning over to God everything that comes your way.
Announcements
At the end of the Services, on both Wednesdays and Sundays, the Zoom audio and video will be opened up to all who would like to connect with one another. As we do, it can feel a lot like when we interact in the Lobby after a Service. Know that, for those who choose, you can merely observe and not be seen or heard. We hope you will join us online this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (Zoom will be used after the main service on Sundays, for a time to connect and have a virtual “Coffee Hour.”)
